The Lilo Carer: A Laid-Back Approach to Caregiving by Richard J Erber.
How, I ask, HOW, can you bypass a book with a chapter titled, “The Curse of Imhotep’s Commode”?
The Lilo Carer is the outstanding memoir of an Australian care worker who supports adults with intellectual disabilities while at the same time dealing with his mother’s impending death from liver cancer.
At times, laugh out loud funny, and at other times bite your lip sad, and at all times tender and thoughtful, I highly recommend this well-written and life-affirming memoir.
Five stars and highly recommended.
