Wow. I picked this novel to read as part of #IndieApril, and I am so glad I did.
I read “Nightjar” slowly because the writing was so lyrical, haunting, and atmospheric that I wanted to take my time and enjoy each page. I found myself stopping repeatedly as I read to reread particularly stunning passages.
It’s hard to pay true and proper justice to such a beautifully written and such carefully crafted tale in a review, but I would recommend “Nightjar” to readers who enjoy dark and compelling fairytales. I would also highly recommend “Nightjar” to readers of literary fiction for it’s gorgeous and poetic writing.
